Public Relations Campaign Case Study
Macon Film Festival
Background
Rhythm Communications partnered with the Macon Film Festival (MFF) in 2023 as their public relations team for the 18th annual event. Nearly 90 feature-length and short films were featured at five different locations in historic downtown Macon. The event programming featured special screenings, awards, Q&As, cocktail parties, industry VIP events and special celebrity guests.
Rhythm was honored to help catapult the festival through:
- Securing extensive media coverage in local and regional news outlets as well as entertainment trade publications, including Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia Public Broadcasting, and The Telegraph (Macon), among others.
- Inviting and engaging local high schools to participate in “Battle of the Bands” competition judged by special guest, multi-platinum music and film producer Dallas Austin
- Promoting festival to the extended Georgia film industry and cultivated relationship with Georgia Entertainment Roadshow and other VIP organizations
MFF is held every August to celebrate the rich artistic and cultural history of Macon, Ga. by showcasing independent films from around the world. In 2023, MFF faced challenges in attracting media attention and increasing attendance and faced a crisis when they were forced to postpone the Fulldome portion of the festival due to maintenance issues. Through their partnership with Rhythm, and with their already sterling reputation, MFF was able to navigate these obstacles with ease and set themselves up for success long into the future. This was demonstrated by the continued media coverage recognition, increased ticket sales and more.
Rhythm Communications is honored to be invited back to represent the Macon Film Festival in August of 2024.
